First Presbyterian Church as it appears today

First Presbyterian Church of Dade City, Florida

The First Presbyterian Church of Dade City was organized by the Rev. L. H. Wilson on Sunday morning, January 13, 1889.  There were 25 charter members.  The property where the church now stands was purchased in 1891 for $150.00 from Pleasant Wilson.  In 1894, our sanctuary was built by A. H. Ravesies for $595.00. (Who, incidentally, returned $100.00 dollars to the church upon it's completion.) The sanctuary remains essentially as it was when it was built. The church was constructed in the "style of the day", with virgin pine walls and hardwood pews.  The tall Narthex with it's pointed tower and "shake" roof is typical of Presbyterian Churches of the day.  You will find us on the Historical Registry.

Today, after several renovations and additions, our church is home for more than 200 members.

We have many group activities including bible studies, a seniors group we call the "Keenagers", our Youth group, Presbyterian Womens Group,  and an active Church Life Committee.

Our worship services, traditional in style, are uplifting.  Our Minister, Rev. Kevin D. Morris, offers childrens worship for those who are young in age, and young at heart.  We have nursery services available and Junior Church for those who are too old for the nursery, but too young to sit still through worship services.  Please, join us on Sundays for worship.
