Membership
The incarnation of God in the life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ gives to the church not only its mission but also its understanding of membership. One becomes an active member of the church through faith in Jesus Christ as Savior and acceptance of His Lordship in all of life. Baptism and a public profession of faith in Jesus as Lord are the visible signs of entrance into the active membership of the church.*
Active Membership: A person may enter into active church membership in the following ways: by profession of faith, reaffirmation of faith in Jesus, or transfer of certificate from some other (reformed) church.
Affiliate Membership: For our Winter Visitors, affiliate membership will allow you to maintain your membership in your home church (of this denomination or of another denomination of the reformed church) and be received by the session as an affiliate member. Affiliate membership holders are entitled to all the rights and privileges of active members except the right to vote and hold office.
Preparation for Membership: Periodically throughout the year, adult classes are offered for new members and for the youth, confirmation classes. Please contact the Pastor or the church office for more information on these classes, or to schedule an interview with the Pastor.
If you are interested in joining our church, please call the church office at 352-567-2591 and speak with Cathy Yann or Rev. Kevin Morris, or you may call Jill McClelland(membership committee chairperson) at 352-588-4493.
